CREATURO Doll Vol.3 DIY - doll necklace
Continue with this fun project building your own Creaturo doll with 4-fingered dangling hands and fancy magnetic closures, woven onto a large sleek chain-style necklace.
This is Volume 3 of a three-part series to complete the entire doll necklace.
In this installment we focus on doll’s LEGS and the construction of the necklace, plus a magnetic Closure— The Creaturo project springs from my background in children’s entertainment and my love for vintage cartoons; that’s why these hands have only four fingers, just like the classic animation characters that inspired them.
Requisites: proficient in CRAW (mid-advanced level)
Design concept
Worn upside down by the neck so the doll’s hands dangle over your chest — cheeky and tactile.
Sturdy yet flexible construction gives pleasant movement while remaining robust enough for everyday wear.
Fancy magnetic closures keep the doll detachable and versatile: snap it on your necklace, swap it between chains, or remove the hands for other uses.
Intended as ornament, toy, and conversation piece — decorative enough for display, whimsical enough to play with.
What you’ll get in this PDF
Full materials list, so you can shop with confidence.
A scheme of the entire doll necklace, scheme of necklace and instructions for magnetic closure
Magnets for this project are for sale on this website under SHOP DIY
You will create two woven legs, attach chain-style necklace strips to the top of each leg, and embed tiny magnets inside the woven structure to create a clean magnetic closure when the doll meets its counterpart.
Beads and materials: This PDF contains the complete shopping list, such as Vol.1 and 2
Toho and Miyuki seed beads size 11/0 (shiny and opaque options included) — primary surface texture and color palette.
Dimpled resin spheres (20 mm) were used in the original samples; they are rare and no longer offered for sale on my site. You may substitute any 20 mm bead that fits your aesthetic: large glass, polymer clay, wooden, or vintage focal beads all work beautifully.
Strong beading thread, Fireline 8lb, size 11 needles, a beading mat, a thread burner , players, seam ripper, scissors
Why this project is fun
Quick to learn but rich with playful detail — ideal if you love hands-on making with an animated twist.
Encourages creativity: swap bead sizes, mix vintage finds, or mount the hand on different chain styles for wildly different vibes.
Perfect as a gift, a wearable collectible, or a quirky home ornament when not worn.
This Volume is the last one for this project!
Happy weaving — may your Creaturo’s hands dangle with mischief.
