Tiny Hands Lariat — Zoom Workshop

Bring childhood wonder to your jewelry box with the Tiny Hands Lariat: a playful collection of handwoven cartoon-inspired hand charms that dangle and dance from long lariat ropes. Originating from my background in children’s entertainment and a lifelong love of vintage cartoons, this design turns character-making into wearable whimsy.

What you’ll make

  • A handwoven Tiny Hands Lariat: a long rope (30–35 inches) with dangling hand charms.

  • Charms are inspired by vintage cartoon shapes

  • Ropes are designed to be wrapped and styled in multiple ways around the neck.

Materials used in the workshop

  • Silver-plated vintage beads

  • 24K gold-plated Czech true-cut beads

  • Hematite seed Miyuki beads

  • Nickel-plated Japanese seed beads

Who it’s for

  • Mid-level and advanced beaders who are comfortable with bead weaving techniques such as tubular Chenille and CRAW

Format & logistics

  • Live Zoom session: 5 hours of demos, step-by-step instruction, and relaxed creative time.

  • PDF instruction file provided to all students, including a detailed materials list and step photos.

  • Optional kit available: $56 (contains the specific beads for the Tiny Hands Lariat design).

Cartoon Hands Lariat — Large Four-Finger Cartoon Hands with Pear-Shaped Bubble Beads

Meet the larger-than-life version of our Tiny Hands Lariat: whimsical, slightly mischievous cartoon-style hands (four fingers, of course, like in vintage cartoons).

Each articulated hand cups a dreamy pear-shaped acrylic bead filled with airy bubbles that catch the light like a secret caught mid-laugh.

Skills Required:

Mid level, advanced weavers proficient in tubular CRAW - tubular Chenille is a plus.

Hours of completion: Approx. 12

Format & logistics

  • Live Zoom session: 5 hours of demos, step-by-step instruction, and relaxed creative time.

  • PDF instruction file provided to all students, including a detailed materials list and step photos.

  • Optional kit available: $46 (contains the specific acrylic beads for Cartoon Hands Lariat design).

Perks

  • Tiny Hands come with tiny Ruffle Sleeves, handwoven in tubular Chenille with extrusions of flat Peyote: a joy to weave

  • Precious materials such as 24K gold plated Czech true cut seed beads and silver plated repurposed 20mm vintage beads

Design details

  • Oversized cartoon hands with four-finger charm — playful nod to vintage animation.

  • Hands framed by tiny ruffled sleeves in a soft trio: dusty pink, cream, and silver.

  • Pear-shaped acrylic beads with internal air bubbles — lightweight, luminous, and unique.

  • Handwoven with fine dura-coat Japanese seed beads and repurposed vintage elements for a luxe-meets-quirky finish.

  • Lariat style: versatile drape, easy to knot or loop for multiple looks.

Why you’ll love it

  • This design is a joy to weave! The transition between CRAW and Chenille happens so smoothly — like a little bead ballet — and changing color combos is a pure delight. Expect a rhythmic, satisfying progression as CRAW builds a sturdy, textured base, then Chenille unfurls plump sections that play off the metallic glint of nickel plated seed beads.

    • This pattern encourages experimentation — swap palettes, play with loop height, and let the sparkly seeds wink through.

Kit Available for sale

  • You might purchase a kit for this class, available at the section SHOP DIY at the cost of $46 - Needles and threads are not included in the kit!

  • In case you prefer to work with your own stash, I will provide a list of materials.

  • Pear Shaped air bubbled acrylic beads are also available for sale in the site.
